SSSSydney's SSSSnake

We went to the Minnesota Zoo today (up near Minneapolis) and Sydney got to see this snake up close!!! She even got to touch it...she said it felt "scratchy". We didn't stay at the zoo very long....it was so crowded and neither Kevin nor myself like crowds very much. They have farm babies there for a couple weeks and apparantly that is a BIG draw for young families...the number of strollers there was unbelievable!!! It was really crazy.
Here are a couple pictures of the girls playing outside yesterday....it's been sunny and a little warmer here....in the 40s now. At least most of the snow is gone!

I found both girls sitting on these sleds in our garage...they don't seem to understand that snow is necessary for sledding!

Flashback Friday

Sydney...
This picture below is one of those that I look at and think
"Oh my...that is SO Sydney!"

2007

Notice Sydney's tongue is sticking out in the picture above!

I love looking back at these old pictures...it's so much fun to see how they have grown and how much they are still the same!

I found these pictures below and thought they were great! This was Sydney's group of friends in Vermont. I think these pictures were taken about a year apart and it's fun to see how much the four of them have grown!

Special K

Daddy and Sydney came up with this new nickname for our little Kayleigh...Special K! This little one is a bird watcher...she loves to look out windows and spot birds. She gets very excited if she sees one and will point it out to whoever is near.

Goofy Girls

I'm a couple days late getting these posted....Kevin had the camera for a couple days and I didn't download the photos from it before he took it!
Goofy Girls

I remember my parents always saying that I did everything with my tongue sticking out...looks like Sydney does too!! Thankfully, Sydney didn't have to look in each egg as she found them (like she did last year!)

Kayleigh was a pro at finding eggs! She would pick one up and throw it into her basket...then go looking for the next one!

Flashback Friday

HAPPY SPRING!!!!
We woke up to a winter wonderland this morning! Almost all of our snow had melted and it really felt like spring had arrived....Robins and Cardinals in our yard....but we woke up to several inches of snow with the promise of more to come all day! Sydney looked out and saind "Oh no! Please go away!" Speaking of the birds, our little Kayleigh is quite the bird lover. She will look out the front window and squeal with delight when she spots one!

Now on to Flashback Friday pictures....it's fun to see how much our kids change each year, and it's also fun to see how much they don't!! I have found several pictures of Sydney when she was Kayleigh's age and her expressions are just so "Sydney"!! Even the way she sits and sucks her thumb 2 years ago is the same today...

The mind of a 3 year old is so much fun!!! We were baking the other day and I told Syd it was time to add the baking soda...she said "We live in Minnesota Mom!!" ...any time she hears "soda" she equates it with the "sota" in Minnesota. Then this morning she was watching her Little Einstein DVD and they mention Vermont....she ran through the house, very excitedly, and said "We used to live in Vermont!"

Mud Baby

Poor little Kayleigh fell face first into a mud puddle yesterday!!! She laughed at first so I went to grab my camera, but then she started crying.

Making Cookies

Sydney does a pretty good job helping me make the cookies...she likes to pour each ingredient into the mixing bowl...most of the time the ingredients DO make it into the bowl! Kayleigh, however, really likes to oversee the whole operation while eating chocolate chips!

Most of our snow is gone and each day it looks more and more like spring! Sydney was running around the yard today saying "I love the grass mommy!" and Kayleigh was running behind her squealing! I think we are all a little excited that spring is coming!!!
Check out the Kasson Public Library blog site (link is in the side column). There are some pictures of the girls from story time this week!

Shoes

Little miss Kayleigh LOVES going outside and she will often try to get her shoes on herself. Well, yesterday, we were at our dear friends' house for a playdate and Kayleigh and Rachael heard me tell Sydney it was time to go home....seconds later we came upon this scene. It was so cute watching the two of them try to get shoes on Kayleigh!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!

There's that tongue!!

We celebrated St. Patrick's Day with as much GREEN as possible! The girls had green bathwater, green yogurt, green scrambled eggs, green milk, green beans and mint chocolate chip ice cream!!

Weekend Fun

BAD HAIR

I remember before Sydney's hair came in, wishing she would be blessed with curls....we were so happy to see ringlets growing in! But it looks like poor Kayleigh has inherited her daddy's straight, stick-out-everywhere hair! This first picture was NOT taken after a nap....this is how she seriously looked all day! The next two were taken after nap...

Check back later for some fun St. Patrick's Day photos (I haven't taken any yet, but I'm guessing I will!)
