Photo Shoot #2

So here are my favorite photos from my second attempt to be a photographer. My girls weren't overly cooperative, but I got a few cute ones. Sydney is just at the stage where she does NOT want to look at you if you ask her to! Oh well...

We also tried to get some photos of the "playmates"...here is Kayleigh and Rachael and further below you will see all four of them.

I have not started packing at all!!! I am trying to collect boxes. It's only 3 weeks away and I am feeling a little overwhelmed. I'm trying to keep our regular schedule (playdates, library, MOPS, etc) and see people for the last time. I'm also having a big Moving Garage Sale next week so that takes a bit of organizing. Hopefully we can get rid of some furniture and stuff we just don't need anymore and get some cash....
And then I go do things like "photo shoots" with my girls...and daily blog posts...no wonder I haven't gotten any packing done!!!

Photo Shoot #1

Although I have gotten my girls photographed professionally in the past, my husband isn't too keen on the idea. I've had two professional shoots scheduled this spring and both have gotten cancelled due to illness or our being out of town. So...my friend Tara and I tried our hand at photography this week...here are some of my favorite shots from the first "session".

This is so sweet of Sydney and Leah....this was totally unprompted!

Sunday at the Park

We found this amazing park and playground in Rochester yesterday...I guess we had seen it before, but never gone. It was the coolest playground I have ever seen. I have posted tons of pictures so you can see lots of the playground. It had a four seasons theme and you can see all four seasons represented...the snowflakes, flowers, fall leaves. There were also lots of little houses, rooms, tunnels, bridges...it was great. The girls had a blast. Their favorite part, of course, was playing in the sand.

Guitarissimo

I played the final concert for the 2007-2008 Season with the Rochester Symphony Orchestra last night. What fun it was to play with an orchestra again! It was a wild concert with pieces of Spanish flair...very interesting rhythmically...and we had some fantastic guest artists. World-reknown jass guitarist, Gene Bertoncini, bassist Ike Sturm and percussionist Dane Richeson. These three were AMAZING! They played a couple tunes by themselves and it was awesome.

Flashback Friday

Silly Sydney
Crazy Kayleigh

For those of you who read Robin's blog, Snyder Survivors, here's a picture of my kids and her kids last summer. Someday I'll have to post a picture of Robin and I as little ones!

Playing Outside

We had another gorgeous day here yesterday, so we spent alot of time outside! Good thing, because now it's cooler and rainy for the next week.
This is a cute story....the other night, Kevin, Kayleigh and I were sitting on the couch working on Kayleigh's words...having her repeat things, point to things, etc. After a while I said, "Let's count Kayleigh"...so I started counting really slow..."One....two...three...four..." Kayleigh got very excited, climbed off the couch and ran into the other room where she proceeded to "hide" behind the chair. We were laughing so hard when we realized that she associated counting with hide and seek. She was so proud of herself for hiding...it was priceless!

Dentist Sydney

Today was Sydney's first dentist visit....we went to a pediatric dentist and had the most wonderful experience. Sydney did a great job both playing dentist and being the patient. You can see in the above pictures that her patient was a green dinosaur. She counted his teeth, brushed his teeth, gave him a ride in the chair...it was fun. She really wanted to bring home the dentist tools with her...especially the mirror!
