It seems that my girls have an obsession with dressing up and wearing sunglasses right now! I even had to get in on the action....

Where are those sunglasses when you actually NEED them?

Just Another Day

Facelift and Library Day

As you can see, my blog site got a facelift! I was inspired by my friend Robin's site and decided to spend some time re-designing mine today. I made a conscious decision not to exercise so I could do this while the girls were napping...but then I got a phone call from someone wanting to see our house (yes...our house is on the market...long story). So I had to spend some quality time on the house.

Wednesday is Library Day for the Foley females... all three of us look forward to this! This is a picture of Sydney sitting on our children librarian's lap today. Syd has always been a "lap" girl! I just happened to look over at the storytime circle and saw Syd climbing into Mary Rose's lap...very cute and a good photo opportunity as Mary Rose is retiring soon! I am addicted to reading children's books to my kids and decided to list the books we check out every week...so you can see what we are reading in the side column under Library Books. If you have personal favorites, let me know so we can be sure to read them!

We have a new ritual of dancing in towels after bath time....here are the pictures from last night.

Kayleigh sees Sydney reading so much that she is learning to "read" like her big sister! Found her in this little corner this morning.

Thinking Chairs

If any of you are familiar with the show "Blue's Clues" then you know what I mean when I say "thinking chairs"....this is Sydney's favorite show and she has always called this red chair her thinking chair. So today I snapped a picture of the girls in their thinking chairs, watching none other than "Blue's Clues". Mommy has a thinking chair too! But I don't do a whole lot of thinking in it! It's funny to me that Sydney, being the bigger girl, has the smaller chair! Oh well! I guess in time Kayleigh will grow into her thinking chair.

Chocolate Dress

This morning while getting ready for church, I gave Sydney the choice between two dresses....a pink one and a brown one. She said, "I really like chocolate so I will wear the brown dress!" So here are a couple pictures of Sydney in her chocolate dress.

Minka and Little Mouse

Kayleigh loves blueberry smoothies!!!

This is a "mouse house" made out of every pillow Sydney could find. We had read a story earlier about two mice, Minka and little Mouse....well, Sydney decided that she is Minka and Kayleigh is little Mouse. So they made this mouse house and then came looking for cheese.

Kevin bought a child's fishing pole the other day and Sydney was "fishing" in our living room....catching her animals! It would have worked better if Kayleigh hadn't kept getting tangled in the line!

Here's a little conversation from earlier today...the four of us were sitting on our bed and Sydney declared that it was a party:

Sydney: "Mommy are you excited?"

Me: "Not really"

Sydney: "Then you should go to a different party where all the people are sad, because this is the excited party"

Where's Kayleigh?

Kayleigh thought this was so funny and kept posing for me! She kept pointing to more animals that she could see on the floor and wanted me to add them to the bucket! What a goof!

Pipsqueaks

Yesterday we went to Pipsqueaks in Rochester...an indoor gym...and had lots of fun with our neighbors. Enjoy the pictures!

Snazzy

The girls have a CD called "Snazzy" and they love to dance around in their towels while listening to it....so that's what the top picture is about.

Kevin got me these flowers for Valentine's Day and Kayleigh thought she was so cute smelling them. I guess we thought she was awfully cute too!

It's below zero yet again today!!! Windchill of -27.....Brrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

Weekend Fun

We had a pretty uneventful weekend here, but had fun playing! Kayleigh LOVES to pull the tights out of Sydney's drawer and drape them around her neck....so then Sydney had to do it too.

Another Cold Day

As you can see.....my younger daughter is much easier to photograph! Her newest discovery is that she can sit on almost anything....the ball, the crayon can, the car. She also likes having bows in her hair (what little there is of it). It's fun to see how different she is from her sister.

We had a great Valentine's day yesterday...we made heart-shaped brownies with red M-n-Ms in them. Then for dinner we made heart-shaped meatloafs and pink mashed potatoes!

It's cold here today!!! Another day of single digit temps. We are going to bundle up and go play at our neighbors for a couple hours.

Sydney's newest thing is to get out of bed in the morning and after nap on her own and come looking for me. This may not seem like a big deal, but up until this point she would lay in bed and wait for one of us to come and get her. Sometimes she would call out, but mostly she would just lay there! So her new found independence is something I have to get used to! This morning I felt a pat on my arm and rolled over to find her in my bed! She told me that she had gone downstairs looking for me, but didn't see me there.
