Anthony Update

The Pacheco Family

an update from Ana....

WE WENT TO THE HOSPITAL ON THANKSGIVING AND ENJOYED IT VERY MUCH. ALL FOUR OF US GOT TO SEE ANTHONY AT THE SAME TIME :) WHAT A SPECIAL TREAT BECAUSE THEY USUALLY ONLY ALLOW ONE PARENT AND ONE VISITOR AT A TIME BUT THANKS TO OUR WONDERFUL NURSE SOULA, WHO PULLED SOME STRINGS, WE WERE ABLE TO SPEND THIS THANKSGIVING WITH ANTHONY, OUR SPECIAL BLESSING. WE ARE SO THANKFUL TO OUR LORD FOR BLESSING US WITH ANTHONY AND ALL THE MIRACLES HE HAS DONE IN HIM!

ANTHONY CONTINUES TO DO WELL, HE IS BEING WEENED OFF THE C-PAP GRADUALLY. HE GAINED A LITTLE MORE WEIGHT AND IS CURRENTLY AT 3LBS 8OZ. IT'S SO GREAT TO SEE HIM FILLING OUT AND GROWING INTO THE PREMIE OUTFITS GRANDMA DIANA GAVE HIM.

THE EYE DOCTOR CAME YESTERDAY AND CHECKED ANTHONY. HE HAD A SLIGHT PROGRESSION BUT IT WAS MINIMAL. PRAISE GOD! IF HE STAYS THE SAME THEY WILL NOT DO ANYTHING BUT IF IT PROGRESSES ANYMORE THEY WILL HAVE TO DO LASER SURGERY. LET'S CONTINUE TO PRAY THAT HIS EYES REMAIN THE SAME. GOD IS LISTENING AND RESPONDING.

KISSES AND HUGS FROM ANTHONY AND ALL OF US, GOD BLESS!

White Friday

Hey there....we got some fresh snow so we had a family ski outing this morning. We tried some new trails right in town and it was fun. Sydney is doing pretty well on hers...much better than I would have ever imagined! And Kayleigh is getting used to the sled (no more screaming the whole time). In fact, she fell asleep in there today!

Aren't the trees pretty? I love the look of a fresh snowfall.

This is how Kayleigh tends to ride in the sled...she's still awake in these pictures.

Another Attempt

Well...my options are getting better every time we try this! Actually I got some really cute shots of the girls and officially got my Christmas card photos ordered! These are some of the cuter rejects.

Sydney on Skis

We got Sydney a pair of cross country skis, too, and she got to try them out for the first time last night. She was so excited and so cute. I put some video clips on so you can see her in action and hear what she is saying.

New Look

I know it's not even Thanksgiving yet, and I've already changed my blog look. My blogging friend, Abbie, made a little present for me (the new picture of the girls) and I was very excited to get it put up!

Don't worry...there are no Christmas decorations up in our house yet. I was tempted to put the tree up with just the lights on last week...especially since we got all that snow. But I knew my man would not approve!

Our Thankful Book

The girls and I made a Thankful Book this week....they enjoy making books and this one was especially fun. I don't know why this first picture is sideways...I have rotated it several times, but it keeps loading like this.

Anyway, it was super easy to do and I thought I would share the idea with you all in case you want to copy it.

We had a family page and a grandparents page....

This was Kayleigh's page...she loves Nemo, babies and owls.

Our friends page with pics of our former MN neighbors....

And it wouldn't be complete without the Wonder Pets!
I know we are all thankful for them.

Sydney's page....Dinosaurs!

The Earth and planets
The book is not finished...we will add to it as we think of more things we are thankful for. Sydney got her cross country skis today and she wants to add them to her book!

Another idea for you to "steal"...last year we made a book called Sydney's 12 Days of Christmas. On the first day of Christmas, my true love gave to me....a reindeer with stripes on it's knees. I plan on doing this again with each of the girls. It's fun to look through magazines for pictures or gather stickers together.

Children's Museum

We returned to our local Children's Museum for some fun today....it was a Mom's Club day so we could get in free! Anyway, Sydney and Kayleigh love playing on the airplane, but to them it's a rocket. They were flying us to space when the rocket broke down...oh no! They had to go to "mission control" and fix all the buttons (see pictures below). Finally everything was fixed and we were ready to return to our spaceship...only to find it had been invaded by aliens (other kids were playing in it).

One Dollar Give

I am very excited to tell you about an opportunity for giving this holiday season...it's called "The One Dollar Give".

The basic idea is this...during the month of December, a new charity will be featured each day and you are encouraged to give $1 to that charity that particular day.

Not only is this a great way to learn about new charities, it's a great way to give an affordable amount.

Click on the button in the side bar to learn more about this....then you can subscribe to their reader so you can learn about the daily featured charity. AND if you have a blog, tell your readers about this. The more people that know, the more we can make a difference!

Embracing the White Stuff

Since we have quite a bit of snow already, we got out our new cross country skis and gave it a go this weekend. Kevin made a cool sled for the girls to ride it. Our first attempt was Saturday, and Kayleigh cried the whole time. I ended up trying to carry her...we both feel down!

Then Sunday, after church, we ventured out again to our favorite stretch along Lake Superior. As always, it was gorgeous and it was fun to see it in a new season! We took along some camping supplies and had hot chocolate in the snow.

more snow....

This has been the view all day. I was just out collecting the mail and garbage cans and it was blowing so hard I couldn't see!!!

Christmas Card Photos

Well, since we are snowed in, I thought today would be a good day to attempt to get photos of the girls that I could use in our Christmas cards.....

This is what I got....

Sydney and Kayleigh eating their feet

Kayleigh's version of the perfect outfit...

And our beloved baby doll...

Good thing it's only November 20th!
