Ernesto

Ernesto lives in Nicaragua...in extreme poverty.

He is registered in Compassion International's program, but does not have a sponsor yet.

Today was his 9th birthday...do you want to give him the best present ever and become his hero?

Anyone?

Let me know....I can hook you up. It will be life changing.

Eating Ice Cream

These are the last of the pictures from our vacation last week. It wouldn't be a vacation without some yummy ice cream! We went to a dairy and also to the Whippy Dip!

The Beach

We made it to the beach every day but one last week. So much fun and quite relaxing!

The girls had fun playing in the "nest" that another girl built

Kayleigh was doing this really funny dance on the beach...I wish I had gotten a movie of it.

This is "Barking Beach"...it's a river that comes out into Lake Michigan. Lots of families with small kids come here because it's such a great place for the little ones to play. Every year it looks different and this year there wasn't much "beach" at all!

The Sand Dunes

On Monday we went on the Mac Woods Dune Ride...we did this two years ago, but Kayleigh slept through the whole thing! Both girls had a blast this year.

They drive you out to Lake Michigan

One of our favorite things to do in the Silver Lake area is walk and climb the sand dunes. It's impossible to capture the grandeur of the dunes with a camera, but it is so beautiful. We decided to explore a new part of the sand dunes this time...the dunes that lead down to Silver Lake. If you want to see last summer's pictures, go here...

This is the tallest sand dune...

This lake off to the left is Silver Lake. Lake Michigan is a 1 1/2 mile walk across the sand dunes to the west. We walked to it last October.

And here the girls are standing in Silver Lake. Because the sand dunes shift each year, this is now the middle of the lake and the deepest part. There is a small shallow area, but then it gets really deep, really fast.
