The girls seem to have inherited a love for butterflies from me....and I got my love for butterflies from my brother who was always catching something or another in his butterfly net as a child!
We have quite a few yellow swallowtails here and see them often, but we enjoyed spotting these two beauties in Illinois.
The first one surprised us by being yellow on the underside of the wings and then black on the top.
The second one was a kind my girls had not yet seen. They both want to plant purple coneflowers in our yard so we can attract more butterflies.
