Yesterday (Sunday) was another great day for sailing and we set off on the Columbia River once again. It's such a beautiful place to sail - especially if you are far enough east in the gorge. Makes you wonder how many oooohs and aaaahs escaped the lips of Lewis and Clark as they came down the Columbia River the first time.
We stopped at an island for a bit....
From the island we had a great view of Multnomah Falls....
We only had a couple mishaps this time....each time we sail we get better at everything. Sailing comes naturally to Kevin so he can anticipate and figure things out quite quickly - me not so much. Launching and landing usually cause me great stress - so much so that I find myself praying and hoping there won't be enough wind to sail.
But as we continue to get out there and practice by doing, we learn and my confidence grows. I didn't fall out of the boat this week so that's good!
It's not always easy getting out there, but it is rewarding. On weekends like this one, I'm thankful I'm a Foley and that I have such a fun family...willing to seek adventure.
I want to go to that island!!!!!! I so enjoyed the sailing with you!!! Did the girls ride in the water this time?
