We decided to spend our last, final day of 2013 doing something we love to do...hiking! Although we've been to central Oregon several times over the past few years, we hadn't done this popular hike to Benham Falls. Originally our plan was to spend a few days in Sunriver - skiing and sledding - but there wasn't enough snow.
Anyway, this hike along the Deschutes River was beautiful.
The river is very low. This is looking at the top of the falls.
Sydney discovered the word JOY on this log and wanted me to take a picture of it. Do you see it?
And here we are at the bottom of the falls. It was beautiful!
On our way back we stopped for a snack and a small fire. For some reason, whenever we hike in central Oregon, we have Cheetos.
Syd was roasting Cheetos for whomever wanted theirs warmed and smoked.
We discovered that cattails are highly flammable and burn quickly...
WOW Love your pictures! What a beautiful place! Grandpa loves his Cheetos twin!!! The girls are so grown up and get more beautiful each day! such fun you have!!
