Cousins and Grandparents

What a JOY to see our cousins / siblings / nieces / nephews / grandparents / parents! The family keeps growing and it was wonderful to meet Joshua, Annemarie and Asher - all born since our last visit. I managed to get photos of almost everyone - I'm missing two nephews who were on a camping trip and couldn't come to the Labor Day gathering.

Cousins

This is the last installment from our trip to NY...if you have hung in there and looked at all these pictures, and you are NOT related to me, then you either have too much time on your hands or you really do care! Either way...enjoy these pictures of my girls getting to know their cousins.

They enjoyed playing with all of them, but Sydney and Sarah really hit it off. They are only a couple months apart and are the only girls that are 4 years old. Sarah usually has to play with the older boys or the younger girls, so she was happy to have Sydney around for a couple days.

Buffalo's Naval Park

On Monday we went downtown Buffalo to the Naval Park Museum. Kevin's Grandpa Paul was a member of the Mighty 8th Army Air Force during WWII and has put together a display for the museum. Our admission included touring a battleship, USS The Sullivans, a destroyer, USS Little Rock and a submarine, USS Croaker. All three were very interesting. It was a great field trip for our preschool unit on war - ha ha!

This is the battleship...USS The Sullivans

The smaller one is the destroyer...the USS Little Rock

These are some pictures of the inside...the first is Syd on one of the "beds".

These were all taken inside the USS Croaker (submarine). It was so narrow in there!

One cool thing about our drive to and from western NY...we saw all 5 great lakes on our drive.

Tire Swing

Grandpa and Grandma Foley have this great tire swing in their backyard and the cousins thoroughly enjoyed it! I took LOTS of pics of them on it and these are my favorites. Look closely at the different faces and their expressions.

There was some concern about the safety of the tire swing, so Gary climbed up and cut part of the branch off to lessen the weight. This is a picture of the kids watching him. (He does this for a living so we had an expert in our midst!)

We attempted to get a good picture of all 14 grandchildren...this was the best one I got.
