One Dollar Give

I haven't posted about the One Dollar Give since the first week it started. I have to tell you, it has been really eye-opening learning about all the different charities out there.

There is still a little more than a week left and it's not too late to jump in and donate $1 to the daily charity. Unfortunately, I don't think the campaign has been very successful in generating lots of donations. It's a shame because it's such a great idea and I know ALOT of work went into organizing it.

If you haven't visited their site, go over there right now and read about a couple of the featured charities. There is everything from pet rescues to homeless shelters, medical charities and charities for our troops. You certainly don't have to donate to all of them...pick your top 3 or 5.

As I mentioned in my first post about this, I purchased the Good Card. It was one transaction and it makes my daily donations so easy. But you certainly don't have to do it this way. Almost all the donations are made through the Network for Good.

One Dollar Give - day 3

My girls have some traditions they are doing every day this month...we have an advent calendar and an advent tree. I guess this is my daily tradition and I love it!

Today's featured organization is Children's Miracle Network. When I went to donate my dollar, there was a space to designate my donation in memory or in tribute to a loved one. I know this organization is dear to many people, but in my circle of friends I immediately thought of Robin and Brian.

And I also thought of little Anthony...still fighting to survive.

And so I happily donated $6 to this wonderful organization.

I have to admit, I woke up very excited to see what today's featured charity would be. It really is a joy to wake up and give first thing in the morning....even if it's just $1.

Compassion International

This one is near and dear to my heart. My Bible study buddy, Brittany, wrote the blurb about Compassion...please go read what she has to say and consider donating $1 to Compassion.

It's easy to donate through this campaign. I chose to purchase a $30 Good Card and then each day I donate $1, it's subtracted from my card balance.
