Sydney turns 15!

I posted the collage above and the words below on facebook....

Happy Birthday to our Sydney Grace. This girl is an amazing human being, and I love watching her navigate her way from childhood to adulthood. She blows us away with her artistic skills. She's a loyal friend and sweet sister. She's smart and funny. She loves Jesus. Kevin and I are truly blessed to have her. Now please pray for us because she is old enough to get a driver's permit.

We went for coffee and croissants at one of our many local coffee shops.

Because it was a school day, we decorated the school area. Sydney is all about Marvel right now, so we went with that theme.

In the afternoon we drove into Gresham so she could meet up with her friends at a coffee shop. Then we returned home and ate dinner as a family at a newish Japanese/Asian restaurant. We came home to open gifts, play a game, watch a movie and eat cake.

Yoselin, our sponsored girl in Dominican Republic, also turned 15!

She's started studying so she can get her permit. Unfortunately for her, we are expecting a lot of snow this week so there won't be any driving while the white stuff is on the ground. Not this year anyway.
