New Album

Our third album is out! Because all our summer gigs were cancelled, we put our time and creative energy into a new album. By "we", I really mean Kevin. He spent hours and hours and hours writing, recording, mastering, re-recording. I just showed up and recorded.

This is, by far, our best album. Many of the tracks are originals. Some are vocal - some are instrumental. Some are traditional Irish - some are more folky. Some feature Kayleigh on lead vocal - some feature Kevin. Some feature violin solo - some feature guitar solo.

The actual physical copy of the album has the photo above on the cover. There is a row a trees we drive by fairly regularly and in October they are bright yellow. Two years ago we were out for a drive and I had my camera. I asked Kevin to stop and I got out to take some photos.

The digital version of the album has the photo below for its cover. Last October I was out for a walk in our neighborhood and had my camera. I took this photo. I love being able to remember when and where these photos were taken.

I arranged some Irish hymn tunes for one of the tracks. The two most recognizable tunes are Morning Has Broken and Be Thou My Vision. I introduced the tunes and connected them with some original music, and I loved putting it all together. Did you know Be Thou My Vision is knows as Slane? Many hymn tunes have names that have nothing to do with the words we know them by. Kevin and I visited Slane Castle in Ireland 3 years ago, so we named this track Slane Castle.

Sydney also got in on the promotion and release of the cd...she animated a short part of Green Hills, and here it is for you to see.
