May is a beautiful time to hike here in the Columbia River Gorge....especially if the wildflowers are blooming. We headed up Dog Mountain recently (west of us and on the WA side of the Columbia River and were treated to gorgeous views and a beautiful wildflower display.
This is looking back at Hood River once you cross the river...Mt. Hood looming in the background. Not a great photo because I took it with my phone and zoomed in, but it gives you an idea of the setting of our town.
The most recent hike we did was east of us and on the Oregon side. More beautiful views of the gorge and mountian...and more beautiful wildflower displays.
