Golden Gate Bridge

While Kevin was bored at meetings all week, the girls and I made the most of the trip and enjoyed several "field trips". First up was the Golden Gate Bridge. Last time we were in San Fran (3 years ago), I really wanted to see the bridge up close. And by see I mean pull off and take photos from several view points.

"See" means something different to my husband and we drove across it.

So this time I REALLY wanted to see it. I had contacted someone I know through Compassion who doesn't live too far from San Francisco to see if she would want to get together and meet in person. We've collaborated several times on my Compassion Family blog and I've been wanting to meet her.

She and her daughter drove over on Monday and suggested we walk across the bridge! Perfect!

I took so many photos that it will take me more than one post to share them all. It was unusually bright and clear and sunny - perfect for the classic photos. We walked across (1.7 miles), went down to visit Fort Point (more on that in another post) and then walked back across (another 1.7 miles). Then we drove up the hills to get a different viewpoint. It was better than I could have imagined. On one side of the bridge we could see sea lions and on the other side we saw several dolphins.

  1. Spectacular photos Jill! Postcard material! How cool you were able to walk across the Golden Gate Bridge-probably the most famous bridge in the USA
