We saw lots of pelicans flying right above the waves looking for fish.
There were beautiful, succulent type flowers and plants growing wildly along the dunes and cliffs.
This area was so cool. We thought it might be a tide pool, but it was just moss covered rocks that lined the beach. The waves would crash behind them and then water would trickle down like little waterfalls. It was mesmerizing to watch. I really wish I had taken a video of it.
This is the Ritz Carlton hotel located at the end of the beach. We walked all the way out to the point to see what was around it (more beach) and then turned back.
This was the point we walked out to. These are the ruins of some old highway that was built years ago.
We ended our time at the beach with a delicious meal at Sam's Chowder House - clam chowder, popcorn shrimp and calamari - yum!
Thursday we spent the morning at the hotel and the girls went swimming. Kevin was done with his meetings at noon and then we started the journey home. About an hour from San Francisco we stopped at the Jelly Belly factory for a tour. It was interesting, but they wouldn't let us take photos so this was the only one I got.
We ran into a lot of rain and even some snow on the way home. We had planned to stop and explore a bit more, but the weather wasn't cooperating so we ended up getting home much earlier than we thought.
And that's the end of our California journey!
WOW REALLY AWESOME PICTURES!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd the girls are so beautiful too
Gorgeous photos of the ocean and the girls! I was in Half Moon Bay with Nancy in 2000. We stayed there for a night. It was beautiful then and looks like it still is. Can't believe you ran into snow on the way home!
