Flashback Friday

Happy October 2007....
I found this picture I took last October 1st....I can't believe how much they have grown and changed, compared to the picture I posted yesterday!

While Sydney prefers to play with dinosaurs and animals, Kayleigh enjoys the more traditional "girl" things....dressing up! Sometimes it's prompted, usually it's not. And often Syd will join in with her...anyway, check out these pictures of Kayleigh.

and my favorite picture of all time of Kayleigh...

Perhaps it's genetic...I found these recently of myself at this age.

Flashback Friday

I'd like to use this Flashback Friday to introduce you to some more friends from my childhood....
the Nafziger sisters!!!!
Karmen, Jenny and Megan
Megan has a blog called Our Family and there is a link to it in the side column. Anyway, our families started out in the same town, but the Nafzigers soon moved to Iowa and then Ohio. But at least once a year we would travel to see them. We always had fun putting on plays and shows for our parents. I think Megan (the youngest) wins, hands down, for cutest hair! And really, mom, what is up with my boy hair and knickers?!?! (in both pictures!!!)

Here's a goofy picture of Jenny and I wearing twin outfits - one piece jumpsuits - pinstriped even! Man....I was fashionable!

And I came across another classic Robin and Jill picture...check out those coats! Do you think I could zip it a little bit higher? Great boots, too!

Flashback Friday

This particular Flashback Friday is dedicated to my friend, Robin. Last week for my birthday, Robin wished me a Happy Birthday on her blog, Snyder Survivors, and talked about us growing up together. One of the things she mentioned was all the pictures we had taken where we were dressed alike. So I had to go through my photos and find some....

Here we are in 1992....I particularly like the orange tint to my hair! I think it's kind of funny that I (or our moms more likely) brought Robin along to my Senior Pictures and made her wear an argyle sweater to match my SOCKS! Even our hair style looks similar....funny though, we both started life with straight hair and ended up with naturally curly hair!

This has got to be an all time favorite...and no doubt this is the exact picture Robin was referring to when she mentioned us wearing the same outfits...can you tell it's the mid-80s in this one?

Check this out....those shirts were hand-made!!! This was most likely one of my birthday parties. And I'm pretty sure we both had perms in this picture....

Apparantly this was our bridal phase...speaking of bridal...I was honored to have Robin as my maid of honor 13 years ago, and was also honored to be hers 10 years ago. Fortunately, we chose new dresses for our actual weddings.

This was the earliest picture I could find...I like the bows on our heads.

Like Robin said....whatever Jill did, Robin did...including the violin! Same hair style again!!

Sydney...
This picture below is one of those that I look at and think
"Oh my...that is SO Sydney!"

2007

Notice Sydney's tongue is sticking out in the picture above!

I love looking back at these old pictures...it's so much fun to see how they have grown and how much they are still the same!

I found these pictures below and thought they were great! This was Sydney's group of friends in Vermont. I think these pictures were taken about a year apart and it's fun to see how much the four of them have grown!

Flashback Friday

HAPPY SPRING!!!!
We woke up to a winter wonderland this morning! Almost all of our snow had melted and it really felt like spring had arrived....Robins and Cardinals in our yard....but we woke up to several inches of snow with the promise of more to come all day! Sydney looked out and saind "Oh no! Please go away!" Speaking of the birds, our little Kayleigh is quite the bird lover. She will look out the front window and squeal with delight when she spots one!

Now on to Flashback Friday pictures....it's fun to see how much our kids change each year, and it's also fun to see how much they don't!! I have found several pictures of Sydney when she was Kayleigh's age and her expressions are just so "Sydney"!! Even the way she sits and sucks her thumb 2 years ago is the same today...

2007

The mind of a 3 year old is so much fun!!! We were baking the other day and I told Syd it was time to add the baking soda...she said "We live in Minnesota Mom!!" ...any time she hears "soda" she equates it with the "sota" in Minnesota. Then this morning she was watching her Little Einstein DVD and they mention Vermont....she ran through the house, very excitedly, and said "We used to live in Vermont!"
