Pictured Rocks

Yesterday we got to do another thing on my "bucket list"....we took the Pictured Rocks Cruise. We tried to do this last year (two days in a row!), but the water was too rough and they couldn't go out. Yesterday was gorgeous!!! And what we saw was even more gorgeous. I was amazed at how different it looked along the 15 miles we saw. We saw lots of kayakers out enjoying the view and that made Kevin and I wish we could kayak it before we leave.

We saw this waterfall....usually it doesn't run in the summer, but we've had enough rain that it was quite pretty.

Black Rocks

Today we returned to one of my favorite places up here...the black rocks. It was windy and the waves on Lake Superior were quite impressive so I tried to get some pictures.

Last Chance....

Wow...I can hardly believe that 2 weeks from tomorrow, the moving company will be here packing up our stuff. I am very thankful that we don't have to pack this time! Then they will load the truck on the 3rd and we'll close on our house on the 4th! We then have 11 days to drive west. I'm hoping it will be a fun, special time for us as a family. We plan to take our time and see as much as we can as we drive across the country.

So my goal is to have this blog private by the end of this week....if you have not contacted me yet, about wanting to stay connected, please do so ASAP.

Weekend Update

Although I've been quiet on the blog for a couple days, life has not been quiet! We had a lovely week of warm, summer weather and made it to the beach 5 out of 7 days last week!

We also had a very successful garage sale and are beginning to get things ready for our move which is less than 3 weeks away.

We had several opportunities to spend time with friends and enjoy the beautiful outdoors... here are some pictures.






Today we went on a canoeing trip with our friends...it was fun and relaxing to float down the river. We went about a mile on the river and ended up at Lake Superior. Three of the girls had fun floating in this yellow raft that was attached to one of the canoes. We were amazed at how good and quiet they were!
