Favorite Things

Every day I have a few "favorite things" or "favorite moments" from the day. Some days it's the simple things. Here are some from today:

Garage Sales....not only does this give me an opportunity to find some really great deals, it also gives me a chance to get to know this town better and interact with some local people. We went to one sale that advertised a "lemonade stand"...you can't pass that up! Especially when it's run by two young girls. Sydney and Kayleigh enjoyed some lemonade and chocolate chip cookies with them. Then at another sale, I was looking at the girls clothing and Kayleigh sat down, took off her shoes and proceeded to try on all the shoes for sale...her favorites were the red sparkly shoes!

Laundry...for some reason I have really taken a liking to hanging my laundry out on the clothesline to dry. Before this year I always disliked hanging my laundry out to dry, but now I do it every day! There is a simple joy in NOT having to use the dryer unless absolutely necessary.

Fresh Herbs...tonight I went and cut fresh cilantro from our garden to garnish the fajitas.... yummy!! I've found myself planning my meals around the herbs I have growing.
