Playing

I love the simplicity of moving an "old" toy to a "new" location....Yesterday I had the bright idea to have the girls play with their tree house out on the deck. They were so excited at this simple thing. Sydney said, "Mommy, it looks so pretty out here. Can I really play with it?"

I'm not sure what's up with the boots....I told the girls to put their shoes on before they went out and this is what they chose.



Well...it's August and it feels like fall is settling in! It's a whopping 65 degrees today...at least it's sunny.

I have had so much fun being at VBS all week, but man....I'm wiped out! It's been a nice little break from my own children. When we are all in the auditorium together at the beginning and at the end, it's fun for me to look over at them and see them participating in their own way. I don't often get to "watch from afar". Kayleigh was dancing away during the closing song, doing her best to keep up with the hand motions. It has also been a breath of fresh air to interact with the kids in my crew...it's similar to how I feel when I'm teaching a violin lesson. It's really a joy for me to interact with other kids and help them learn. Tomorrow is our last day and then I need a break! I've had to wake the kids up every morning so we get there on time....they are wiped out too! They have both been taking 3 hour naps every day! I know, without a doubt, they will be the ones to wake me up on Saturday morning. They will very likely be up bright and early.
