Weekend Down State

We spent an incredibly beautiful weekend in the lower peninsula of our great state.... We had great weather and the drive home was absolutely gorgeous. Northwestern MI has beautiful fall foliage!!! We came home the scenic way through Traverse City, Charlevoix and Petoskey...I don't think the trees could have been any more beautiful!

On Friday we walked just about 2 miles to this lighthouse...Big Sable Point. It was pretty cool to see and we climbed up 130 steps to the top.

Then on Saturday we went back to one of our FAVORITE places....the sand dunes! We hiked the 1 1/2 miles across the dunes all the way to Lake Michigan. And on our way back we were treated to a gorgeous sunset.
