I know so many creative people. My blogging friend, Abbie, is doing a giveaway and has encouraged us to post examples of what our hands have done. When I first read her post, I commented that I like to display other people's creativity in my home. My brother is an artist by profession. My mom is an artist by hobby. I think because I grew up with their artistic expressions around me, I have always been hesitant to draw or paint. Maybe that's why I'm in music.
But then today as I looked around my house for examples of my own creativity, I realized that creativity manifests itself differently through people.
So here are some examples of creativity in our house...
Kevin's handiwork...a tree house for Syd and Kay's animals to play in
My attempt to make my girls more globally aware and get to know more about our Compassion kids
I think my greatest outlet for my creativity is in organizing...here's what I came up with for the hair bows
I also love creating fun spaces for my girls to read or play in...
Like their reading corner
And their newest fort under the stairs in our basement
Sometimes I try my creative hand at photo shoots
And I've even been known to make a few "no sew" blankets for my own girls and other friends.
Last week I bought a sewing machine so we'll see what the future holds!
See you ARE really creative!!!
ReplyDeleteI love that idea about the map. I may have to do that soon. Any time that Aleeyah sees anything Africa like-she says "Opia!!"--translation, "Ethiopia!!"
And I have to say, I just love no sew blankets-so cuddly and warm!
awesome, jill! so inspiring to think about what's around MY house that I made! I like how you pointed out less "obvious" things, like your photo shoots--gets me thinking more outside the box too!
ReplyDeleteYou and Abbie....seriously have to help me with my creative side...which at the moment is pretty non-existent!
