Sunday Picnic

WARNING...You will enjoy this post more if you get yourself something warm to drink.

It was practically a heat wave today (high of 30), so we skipped church (gasp) and went for another hike/picnic. Now let me spiritualize a bit...as we were walking through the forest, with the snow coming down I couldn't help but think that it was a perfect way to worship God - in the middle of His creation, with the people I love most!

I took tons of pictures...I just love seeing undisturbed snow and seeing how it has collected in places.

I found this very cool spot

And we made a cool fort

Two very hungry and unhappy girls

Finally happy and eating

Cooking the hot dogs

Hanging out in the fort after eating

If you haven't gotten that hot chocolate or hot tea, this is where you will really want it....

After our picnic we walked down to the beach and lake. It was very cool so see the walls of ice that have formed as the waves splash up and freeze. The snow on the beach was untouched and made for very difficult walking - too bad we didn't have our snow shoes! It was at least up to my knees. Great workout! (especially since I was carrying Kayleigh)
