My friend, Britt, inspired me to make these blueberry muffins. She gives a nice, step-by-step, tutorial of how to make them...complete with pictures! I just give you pics of my helpers making a mess!
Although I usually find their help annoying, it's fun to see their curiosity as they help. They like to "touch" each ingredient to see how it feels (don't worry...their hands are relatively clean!)

CRAZY HAIR...
Both girls were sporting several pig tails in random places!

POPSICLES...green and blue!

ANOTHER PICNIC...

Last night's picnic was so perfect, we decided to do another one. This time we went to a smaller lake called Teal Lake.

ACCIDENTS...

3 to be exact.
I woke up thinking we had conquered and succeeded at potty training! Maybe my over-confidence was my downfall.
But really...Kayleigh woke me up asking to go potty. And her diaper was still dry! We were outside quite a bit and all 3 accidents happened outside. Must be the fresh air.
hang in there kayleigh. you can do it! i love all the fun places you guys go to. rochester area just doesn't have many options! i like the boots too that she bakes with!
ReplyDeleteYou take them to such wonderful places! You inspire me to find more interesting places to go near to home for us.
ReplyDeleteBaking muffins is one of our favourite things to do. If you watched Pk helping, though, you would never want to eat anything prepared in our house! I think that cooking is so much fun and such a great learning experience for children.
Abby use to have the same issue as Kayleigh. She would be dry until she played, it was like she didn't know or want to stop playing to have to go potty so she would have accidents. And outside playtimes were the worst because she was farther from the potty and didn't want to go in. I just started stopping at random points and asking if she felt like she should go. With time I think she finally started to realize the amount of time she needed to be able to get to the bathroom in time. Really though...playing is so much more fun than having to go in to go potty! :) She'll catch on!
ReplyDeleteLove the pictures, especially the pig tails, so funny!
We love to be outdoors and there is so much accessible wilderness around us here...I am a firm believer in getting out in nature. I loved the book "Last Child in the Woods".
ReplyDeleteI think there is another picnic in the works for tonight!
Teal Lake? We have a Teal Lake near Hayward, WI. Is it the same one?
ReplyDeleteNo...it's Teal Lake in Negaunee, MI
ReplyDeleteAha - Michigan to Portland. That's a big move.
ReplyDeleteI tried to answer your comment on my post about hugging, but I don't know for sure if you got it. I said "of course you may and pass it on"!
If I lived closer, I'd love to help you assemble care packages!
