Grand Island Adventure

We were looking for something to do today after church and I had the brilliant idea to take the ferry to Grand Island and explore. It is one of the things on my "UP Bucket List" after all. So we loaded up our bikes, packed some snacks and headed off to Grand Island.

Once we got there, we got out our map and began our adventure. We ended up getting turned around and lost quite a few times (the map was very confusing!). I think we biked about 18 miles, mostly uphill, on awful sand roads, through mud, through knee high weeds and even on trails that were absolutely NOT bikeable! Did I mention the humidity and mosquitoes? Awful!

But we did finally see some beautiful views and even found a beach to play on for a while. It sure was an adventure. And now I can cross it off my list!
