Update

Thanks to all who have responded about wanting to keep up with the blog once it goes private. I will make that switch sometime before the big move. I know there are hundreds of you who read this very important blog every day so I want to make sure I give everyone ample time to respond!

We do have a destination once we get to Oregon...we have decided to rent a house for the first year or so. Kevin was out there last weekend and found a house he thought would suit our needs, but they rejected our offer and we didn't feel comfortable paying their asking price. We both feel like we should rent and get to know the area. It will be a little strange renting again after owning the last 4 homes we've lived in, but it will also be a relief to not paint the new house! (If you know me at all, you know that I can't rest until I've painted every wall in the house!)

We are trying to make the most of our time left here.
Last night we went to one of my favorites beaches. I have a "bucket list" of things I want to do before we leave this area and returning to this beach was definitely one of those things! It wasn't warm enough to swim, but the girls had fun playing in the sand and I had fun relaxing with my book.

The walk back to the beach is beautiful...

Then today we went to the Children's Museum one last time. The girls got to see this gecko up closely.

They also put on a play...Syd dressed up as a lion and Kay was, of course, a princess. The play was called "The Lion and the Princess". It was rather short as the lion "ate" the princess in the first 10 seconds!

  1. I love how the girls' individuality shines through in their playtime. The princess and the lion-priceless!

  3. Renting seems like a good deal since you don't know the areas that well, and I am sure within a year you will be able to find the "ideal" house. Exciting. Good luck on the Bucket List, that is a great idea!
