At the Foot of the Mountain

A weekend of Compassion...

I attended Compassion's Advocates Conference this past weekend in beautiful Colorado Springs. I've been an advocate for 14 years and this was my first conference. What a great opportunity to gather with 400 like-minded people! I am still digesting and processing all I experienced and learned. I will definitely be writing more about this, but for now, here are some pictures.

I got to meet and reconnect with so many people. A highlight for me was meeting Compassion's president and CEO, Wess Stafford. This man is the heart and soul of the ministry and his story is a powerful one. He wrote his story in "Too Small to Ignore" and I recommend the book to everyone. We had the privilege of hearing Wess recount his story and how God redeemed his painful past for good.

This is Britt...a friend I met on line through a Bible study and got to meet face to face this weekend!

My former fearless leader, Rick...

My current fearless leader, Ian...

Blogging friend, Juli....Juli was honored for reaching the milestone of getting over 500 kids sponsored! Way to go, Juli! You are an inspiration to me!

and this was my view of Mt. Hood on my way home...

If anyone is interested in a FREE copy of Too Small to Ignore, let me know and I'll get one to you right away!

  1. You got to meet Wess?! So cool! Um, is it okay that I laughed a tiny but at the chalk drawing? The little boy on the left made me smile! What a GREAT time it looks like you girls had there! I loved Too Small To Ignore. Actually, maybe I'll make David read it! :)
