Simplify

For the past 6 years I have been on a quest to simplify...schedules, material possessions, life.

My desires for simplicity stem from a couple things...my work with Compassion International (helping release children from poverty) and multiple moves.

In my quest for simplicty, I have been drawn closer to God...realizing that my significance and worth is found only in Him, not my possessions or status. I have also found much freedom in my simplifying by getting rid of so much clutter and so many distractions.

Less than a year ago, I stumbled on a concept that was new to me - Minimalist Living.

This is taking simplicity and de-cluttering to the next level. I was intrigued and began "minimalizing" cabinets and drawers. What I have found is even more freedom.

I follow the blog becoming minimalist and the blog's author has just released an excellent e-book call Simplify. I love this book. It is very practical, easy to follow and read, and is full of great information.

Many minimalists are extreme, limiting their possessions to 100 things or living communally. In his book, Joshua Becker defines what he calls "rational minimalism" and describes how minimalism will look different for each individual or family...because we are all different.

Head on over to the website and take a closer look. I don't think you will be disappointed. I wasn't.
