Weekend Adventures

Our weekend was not without adventures, I just haven't gotten around to posting the pictures. On Saturday we headed out to Forest Park. This is the largest park within city limits in the United States. It is 5100 acres and has miles and miles of hiking trails. While many Portlanders think this park is paradise, we would rather be out in the true wilderness.



Then on Sunday we headed out for a hike near Mt. Hood, but as we drove higher and higher up the road, we confronted more and more snow. We even had to drive around this bolder in the middle of the road. We ended up turning around and just hiking through an area that was logged.






This is the landscape we walked through...it looks like it would be fairly easy to walk through, but it was not. It was definitely one of the harder hikes we've done! So many sticks and debris...and it got really steep at the end. When we reached the top, we found a logging road, which we took back to the main road!
