Busy Day

Today was Portland's 32nd Shamrock Run. 21,000 people participated in either the walk, 5K, 8K, or 15K runs. Still working towards my goal of running a 1/2 marathon in 2010, I ran the 15K (9.3 miles) race. It was fun, although the first 3 miles were chilly! And then at mile 6 my hip started hurting. But I finished with a decent time (81 minutes) and managed to run the whole thing (even the hills).

After a quick lunch at home, we headed across the river to Washington. Someone told us about a rock face called Ozone that is great for climbing and we wanted to check it out. They were right...and we did a little climbing!

After a little rock climbing, we were driving further east to Hood River when we saw a sign to Mt. Adams recreation area. We wanted to see Mt. Adams, so we drove 20 miles north and were rewarded with a great view! It's taller than Mt. Hood, but didn't seem like it.

We went on to Hood River where we walked around a bit, then had dinner at a quaint little Japanese restaurant.
