Pre-School Skate

This morning some friends invited us to join them for pre-school skate at Gresham Skate World. I seriously felt like I was stepping back in time and could not believe I was a mother, taking my children to skate...instead of meeting my friends from 5 grade as we giggled in the corner, talking about which boy might "pick" us to skate with him.

Syd and Kay had a blast and they did really well for their first time on rollers! I took lots of little videos, because let's face it...skating is more fun to watch in motion. Notice the very retro rink, complete with carpeted walls.

I don't care what the year or decade is, no trip to the roller rink is complete without the Hokey Pokey!

  1. That was great! 80's music and all. I was hoping in one of those videos we'd see Syd or Kay 'shoot the duck'.

You and Kevin should go on a date to the rink. Jill-you can tease your bangs and Kevin can wear some hammer pants....and don't forget to take and post some video!!

  3. I'm impressed! The first time I took the boys (last year) I swore I wouldn't take them again until they were double digits! Your girls did great!!

  4. I love roller skating...my girls have roller skates and try almost daily to skate on teh floor at home. I think it would be fun to take them to a roller rink. I myself have the roller blades...little less stable there!
