Sunday Trip to the Coast

After church on Sunday, we headed to the coast. We had a picnic lunch and then hiked Ecola State Park. This is just north of Cannon Beach, home of Haystack Rock. Although this was our fourth trip to the coast, we had not previously explored this beautiful park. The hike was a bit muddy, but it was beautiful and we ended up at a beach. The tide was coming in, but we were still able to find plenty of sea anemones, starfish and more.

There is a lighthouse off the coast...wouldn't it be weird (a little freaky/a little cool) to be out there?

We rested awhile at these massive trees...

The trail was so muddy at times...here is an example

We found many friends along the way...slugs, salamanders, snails
