Day Two at the Coast

On Day two of our Coastal adventure, we drove north on Hwy 101 to Pacific City. The stretch between Tillamook and Lincoln City is one we had never yet driven so it was new to all of us. Pacific City has a haystack rock, similar to the one at Cannon Beach. They had a nice, sandy beach (unlike the rocky one the day before) so we played here for several hours.

Sydney found quite a few little hermit crabs. This was one that wasn't in a shell.

Off to the one side of the beach was a great tide pool area and this huge sand dune. Kevin and I climbed to the top, where you could look over to see more of the Oregon coastline.

This was the view from halfway up the dune...

This is the Cape Mears lighthouse.

And we walked back to see the "Octopus Tree"...they wouldn't let you climb around on it, but doesn't it look like a great climbing tree?
