Delicioso

It was a hot one here in Portland today, but we spent the day on "Delicioso" (the name the girls have given to our boat). It was a lovely day for sailing and we were on the river by 9:15 this morning and didn't get out of the river until 4:15 pm. There were so many boats out. I guess everyone was thinking the same thing. We sailed around Government Island....this island is several miles long and is the island you cross over on the interstate when going from Oregon to Washington. There were many, many people camped all over the island and even more just hanging out on the beaches for the day.

Kevin had the idea to tie Sydney up and let her "swim" behind the boat. She had a blast. We all ended up trying it...Kayleigh even did it, but it was basically just Kevin hold her by her arms and letting her legs go out behind the boat.






The view of Mt. Hood was just spectacular today.




We were right across the river from the airport when we were at the western tip of Government Island...can you see it behind the girls?
