Outside....The sun is shining and the forecast promises another beautiful day (might be the last for a while!) I have made great progress in the yard this week, but there is still quite a bit to be done.
Around my house....no big projects looming over my head, although I do want to paint the two bathrooms upstairs. I think I'll wait for a rainy day to tackle that, and I'm sure we'll have plenty of them in the next 5 months.
On my mind...Last night Kevin's car was broken into again. This is the second time since moving here and we feel so violated. A year ago it happened right in our driveway and there was nothing to steal, but this time he parked next to other cars along the river and went for a run. When he returned 40 minutes later, the other cars were gone and there was a pile of glass next to his car. The thief snagged his good jacket and gym bag which had his wallet, his work clothes, his knife, his other new fleece jacket....probably a total loss of $500. It seems like such a waste of money, such bad stewardship to have to replace items that were stolen from you. The window alone will cost $200 to replace (I could sponsor a CSP for an entire year for that amount of money! For less than $500 I could sponsor a child for an entire year!)
In my prayers....We got a call from Compassion yesterday....Nowanda, our sponsored child in Indonesia, has moved and is no longer near a Compassion student center thus ending our 7 year relationship with her. I am praying that although our relationship has come to an end, the ministry of Compassion and the seeds of faith that were planted will continue to take root and impact her life.
This week in homeschool....We are learning about France, symmetry, the human body, rhyming and much more.
A photo from our week..
so sorry about the breakin. How maddening. And sorry you have to loose one of your children. I was so sad to loose Deyvison a few years back but i still pray for him and his family.
ReplyDeletehugs and love to you all
oh no! How scary and rotten. Sorry you had to deal with that.
ReplyDeleteLove you!
