Busy Weekend

Grandma Redman arrived last Thursday and we have been busy, busy, busy! On Thursday afternoon, I put everyone to work making Christmas cards for unsponsored children in Compassion's projects around the world. I'm hoping our cards make it to some of the children I got to meet in Peru. We made some of our own and I also bought a couple boxes at Walmart. We kept the message simple and put in some stickers to jazz it up. My hope and prayer is that they bring a smile to the faces of the kids who receive them. When all was said and done we made 55 cards!

Friday was our weekly homeschool co-op. Sydney helped me teach the concepts of melody and harmony to her kindergarten class. She has learned to play the melody while I play the harmony. It was also costume day at Friday school, thus the outfit. You can't really tell from the picture, but that is a flamingo costume she is wearing.

After Friday school, I organized a Operation Christmas Child Shoebox drive and some of the kids stayed to help put them together. When all was said and done, we had 14 shoeboxes filled for kiddos around the world!

This little boy wrapped his own box and then filled it. I was wrapped so badly, but it was just precious that he was determined to do it himself. None of us adults really noticed what he was doing until it was done. The control freak in me wanted to re-wrap it, but I just couldn't bring myself to undo his gift.

These are just a couple silly pictures of the girls from this morning. Sydney was showing me some of her tumbling moves and Kayleigh was balancing.
