Family Hikes

In an effort to escape the rain pouring down on Portland, we tried to drive out of it and do some hiking. Friday we didn't have much luck and ended up hiking through a mist. This first picture was an attempt to get a family photo for our Christmas letter.

Today we drove east, along the Columbia River, and found sunshine once we got to Hood River. It ended up being a pretty nice afternoon and we hiked a trail that is half-way up Mt. Hood.

Hiking in the cold is always better with hot chocolate!

And hiking in the snow isn't complete without making snow angels

And there's nothing better than sledding down a hill after hiking up it!
