Mommy's Career

Christmas Eve we were driving home from church where I had just played violin.

Sydney says: "Mom, you are really good at music. You should be a musician."

I replied: "Well, I am a musician."

Sydney: "But you should get a job or something."

Me: "But then I wouldn't be able to be home with you all day. Or if I worked at night, I would be gone every evening."

Kayleigh: "Mom, I love you too much to let you get a job."

And that, my friends, is why I won't get a job as a musician!
