Rain Hike

It has been raining here a lot.....it's not surprising, seeing as how we live in the pacific northwest and winters are rainy, but it's been a down pour for several days straight. And windy - very windy. So windy and so rainy we have developed a leak in the roof in the laundry room.

Anyway...we tried getting out of the rain for a bit by driving east. We drove to "sun-drenched" Catherine Creek in Washington and we did see glimpses of the sun at the beginning of our hike. But there was evidence of much rain here, and it didn't take long for the rain to find us.

Shortly into our hike we found that Catherine Creek had covered the trail.

Thankfully, just to the left of the trail there was this bridge.

This was a really cool rock arch we saw from both sides.

The rain did find us and we made this temporary shelter to rest under a bit.

After a while we decided to just get wet and gave our rain hats to the girls to wear. We need to get them some better rain gear for future hikes!

  2. love Kayleigh's painted nails! She reminds me of my friend Janna whose facebook info reads "My outdoor friends think I'm girly, my girly friends think I'm outdoorsy" - hope the rain slacks up some!
