Smitty and Compassion

One of the very cool things about being an advocate for Compassion, is the opportunity to work the Compassion table at concerts. Since October I have been seeing posters around town for Michael W. Smith's Christmas Concert and I knew it was an event I wanted to work! Thankfully I was able to get Kevin and I signed up right away, and last night was the event.

It always amazes me how few people stop by the display while they are waiting to get into the concert. Michael W Smith gave a nice presentation and at intermission we had several people come by to sponsor children. I love meeting fellow sponsors and being part of connecting new sponsors to their new children.

The concert itself was nice. I enjoyed seeing him perform with a full orchestra. I took few video clips with my camera so enjoy. There is also one of him talking about Gavi, the first child he sponsored through Compassion.

In case you want to follow in Smitty's footsteps and sponsor a child, but couldn't make it to his concert, this little fellow below needs a sponsor. His birthday is January 1 and I can't think of a better birthday gift for him. Joseph is from Tanzania and has been waiting more than 10 months for a sponsor.

On another Compassion related note, our LDP student, Bildad in Haiti, is celebrating her birthday today!

  1. How cool is that! Thanks for sharing.... I keep waiting to see if Mandi wants to go through the process of advocacy. I would love too.... but do not want to trump her.... I keep telling myself that both of us could go through the process of being advocates.

Anyway, thanks for your comment on my blog. It just all seems so ???
God has changed me so in the last year... and so often when I talk about sponsorship or orphans ... just seems like no one cares. Not just on my blog... but in real life.

For several years I have just blogged... about my everyday life but lately I feel that .... oh I don't know.

The way I see things is so different then even a year ago...

I ordered Wes Stafford's book for Christmas "Too Small to Ignore."

Thanks for being part of my journey. Pray for me to have the words He wants me to say...

    Hugs,
    Teena
