Lizards and Paleontologists

It's been a while since I've talked about our lizards, and I know you are eager for an update. Both Narnia and Pevensie are still alive and doing well. It's still a thrill (for Sydney and Kayleigh) to watch them eat crickets and mealworms. The cage gets rearranged weekly when Kevin helps them clean it (lizards poop a lot). Currently there is purple sand in the cage.

Today we had the opportunity to participate in a fossil class at OMSI (the science museum in Portland). Sydney did this class in the fall of 2009, but Kayleigh was too young. This time, both girls got to be paleontologists.

Here they are drilling on a dolphin skull...

And there they are working on triceratops fossils (the museum volunteer said they've been working on these same fossils for 15 years!)

As you can imagine, Sydney was in her glory. Kayleigh admitted at the end that she really enjoyed it too.

On our way out of the museum, we walked through the current ancient Egypt exhibit where we got to see a couple mummies. The girls also went for a camel ride.
