Father's Day Hike

In honor of Father's Day, we did what daddy likes best - hiking! We decided to try our luck and drive out of the clouds and rain that seem to be covering Portland this weekend. We've learned in the past that the cloud cover breaks just on the other side of Mt. Hood - so that's where we went.

Almost immediately after driving to the other side, the sky turned blue and sunny!

We returned to a hike we did last July 4 (with Grandma and Grandpa Redman). Although we are only 2 weeks earlier in the season, there was snow from the beginning this time. We only went as far as Newton Creek, where we ate lunch.

How did you celebrate Father's Day?

  2. we thought about the mountain, but instead went to church, fed some kids, put said kids down for naps, and hung around the home doing little projects and playing with again said kids...all the while recovering from the sore muscles from the mudrun! oh, we made sure to grill food for the Daddy in the family! great day!
