City Adventure

Because we have grandparents in town, Kevin and I took advantage of free babysitting and left for a 24 hour date. Our destination this time was the great city of Portland. We walked the streets, browsed some shops, ate at new restaraunts, rode the streetcar and had a fantastic time just the two of us.

I had my camera along, but didn't take any pictures....except this one of us in our room.

After returning home on Saturday, we got the gang and headed to the rock climbing gym. Once there we learned it was closed for a rock climbing competition. It would open to the public at 5 pm, so we decided to kill some time at a nearby shopping center.

It was rainy and there were free umbrellas for customers to use while walking around. This one was bigger than Kayleigh!

There was a ginko tree in the middle of the shopping center with some gorgeous leaves.

Finally we made it back to the gym and got some good climbing in. Here is Sydney, almost at the top.

And Kevin going over an overhang

Me, almost at the top

What did you do this weekend?

  3. I'm so glad you had a chance to sneak away together! It looks like you had a wonderful time. I'm with you, Grandma Dee Dee - I'd be planted firmly on the ground watching safely from below!!

  4. Oh Boy. It does look like you had fun. You always find so many wonderful things to do. Guess the only way fear is in your lives is as in "fearless".
    Even Sydney's hike seemed like a cliff-hanger.
