I remember when we left the state of Michigan I said I'd seen enough snow to last me a life time. Two years later and I am once again an owner of cross country skis (I sold mine in MI - never wanting to ski again).
I blame it on my husband.
And my kids.
They love snow like most kids do.
Anyway....thanks to Christmas (and CraigsList and the used gear store), the entire family is now geared up for cross country skiing. So we gave some of our new equipment a try today.
This was our view - pretty nice.
This was Kayleigh's first time really skiing....she didn't like falling and at one point said "I hate this" through tears. After a break for hot chocolate she was ready to try again and did much better.
Sydney was hilarious. She did great but spent more time in the snow on her butt than she did on her skis!
Practice makes perfect.
WOW I want to be there with you sooooooooo much. I love snow and playing in it!!! Hot chocolate too!!! Do you still have your snow shoes? That is my favorite! thanks for all the pics
ReplyDeleteFUN! We have flurries today - which, as you know, means there may be three or four little particles that are thicker than a raindrop blow across your windshield. The temp is 33 right now though, so very possible we could get more. Unless it keeps us locked in the house tomorrow, I'm against it. I hope Kayleigh will want to go again. I love the last picture of the snow on the trees - looks like it's from a magazine!
ReplyDeleteLooks like so much fun. rob is jealous of your outdoor habits. Wish we had snow to do this! Believe it or not we have none!
ReplyDeleteYeah, I wish you and rob lived here. It's not too late, move! There are races and triathlons, etc every week here. You would love it. There are a lot of dams, wells and other hydro things here too , maybe that means there are jobs....
ReplyDeleteThe girls probably did much better than I would do ;) Skiing and I just don't mix well!
