Yesterday all the weather forecasts predicted a big storm rolling through - lots of snow expected on and around Mt. Hood and lots of rain for the rest of us. So we planned our day accordingly and decided to go spend the afternoon at our favorite rock climbing gym.
Boy were they wrong. It didn't rain and the mountain didn't get much snow.
Oh well....at least we enjoy rock climbing.
And I'm actually surprised I can honestly say that. You see, my rock climbing days began way back in college when I was trying to impress a certain someone. I never really loved it, but I did love that certain someone enough to do what he enjoyed doing.
So when we moved from Virginia to Illinois and there was virtually no rock climbing anywhere, I was happy to pack away the rock climbing gear.
Many years and many moves later, we still weren't back to climbing.
But then we moved out here to Oregon, where there are many rocks to climb and many avid rock climbers.
When we first started climbing a year or so ago I wasn't overly thrilled. I think I even told Kevin I didn't want to be his rock climbing buddy.
But now I love it. It's challenging. It's exhilarating. It's a great workout.
And the girls are getting pretty good, too. Kayleigh flies up the wall.
Sydney spends a lot of time reading in the corner, but she, too, can climb to the top of these crazy high walls.
We're off to ski today, but part of me wishes we were headed back to the gym for more climbing!
You are such a great wife!!!! And Mommy and Daughter!!!! Good pics of the rock climbing. Is that where we went with you? That was such a cool place
