The girls and I had a violin concert at our favorite local coffee shop today. We've taken our violins in in the past to play for the owner and she offered her space as the setting of an informal concert. She's pretty desperate for business and so we all thought it might be a fun way to get some new folks in.
They have a large screen tv where they advertise for some local businesses as well as feature some of their menu items. They created an ad for our concert and it's been playing for the past 2 weeks.
Before the concert, I found the girls cozied up together on the heating vent, reading books.
Since we are only a day away from St. Patty's day, we decided to dress festively.
Kayleigh went first and played 5 songs - she did great.
Then it was Sydney's turn for her 5 songs - she also did great!
I finished up the concert with some Irish fiddle tunes. This is the owner and her granddaughter.
These aren't the best shots, but it gives you an idea of how many people were there. We invited some neighbors and friends from church. We were thrilled to see so many familiar faces, as well as some unfamiliar faces. All in all there were about 15 people there.
AWESOME!!! Oh How I wanted to be there!!!! Great turn out!!!! Beautiful girls!!! hugs and love
ReplyDeleteI am so impressed!! What a terrific idea and to have the courage and stage presence to perform there is wonderful! I wish I could have heard all your songs. I think Carnegie Hall is next!
