Our Sunday

We've had beautiful weather this weekend and another sunny, warm day is in store for us today!

Saturday we borrowed our neighbors truck (I love nice neighbors!) and got a couple truckloads of mulch to lay in our side yard. As you know, we get SO MUCH RAIN, and the east side of our house is just a soggy mess in the spring. The grass doesn't grow well there, just weeds and moss, so we put down a bunch of mulch to help soak it up and make a better place to keep our sailboat.

This is just a random picture of the back of our house and our yard

Yesterday was a big day for us at our church It was Compassion Sunday, and our pastor gave us the green light to basically plan the whole service. You can read more about it over at Compassion Family today. Both Kevin and I had the opportunity to share with our church body how child sponsorship, through Compassion, has impacted our family. Kevin delivered a message (quite well in my opinion) about compassion in general and about living beyond ourselves, and I was able to share more specifically about child sponsorship.

After church, we went for a family bike ride in the Columbia River gorge. It was a bit hilly for our little ones, but they did a great job and there was ice cream in the small town we rode to. I love that we have reached another milestone and can go for family bike rides.

On our way home Kevin dropped me off several miles from home so I could get a run in. While I was running, he and the girls had some fun experimenting with the macro lens on our camera. I just love these...
