We set off for a hike today, since yesterday Kevin spent most of the day laying down. But we didn't get very far before Kevin realized that it probably wasn't a good idea.
So much to the girls delight, we found a place to sit, enjoy the sun, practice photography and play. We headed up to this rock outcropping.
On our way up we saw this pretty meadowlark (Oregon's state bird).
We also saw several turkey buzzards and even this eagle fly overhead. We took lots of photos, but then realized I had the camera set on slow shutter speed so everything was terribly blurry. This is the best one we got.
This was one of our views....the landscape east of the Cascades is so different.
Like I said, we had fun practicing our photography skills....
And in case you've forgotten what we look like ~ here we are!
And in case you didn't like that one, here's another one.
This was the view as we walked back to our car. I think it's neat how the road goes through the middle of these two lakes and the railroad tracks separate the one lake from the river. I like this photo - a lot.
More experimenting with our camera and our photography skills.
On our way home we stopped at Cathedral Ridge winery in Hood River. We wanted to pick up a bottle of our favorite wine and since the wine tasting fee is waived with a purchase, I sacrificed and went in for wine tasting. They don't allow minors in this place so Kevin stayed out with the girls.
He took this photo of me through the window - can you see the reflection off the window on the left? Pretty cool.
Hope you had a great Sunday too!
What gorgeous photos! Looks like Kevin is feeling better even if he couldn't hike like he wanted.
