Before I left Mexico, Ed gave me two small gifts.
A coin (diez pesos) and a washer.
The purpose was so I would have something tangible to remember Mexico by - specifically the kids being served by the Rancho de los Ninos.
The washer was somewhat of a joke (because of the work I did with the roto hammer and drill), but I love it. Because it already had a hole in it, it gave me the idea to drill a hole in the coin and make a necklace to wear.
So today I debuted my new necklace and love it. I found myself fingering it several times throughout the day, praying for the boys and workers at the Ranch.
I'm hoping that as I wear it in the next few months it will start some conversations.
But at the very least, it will help me to remember what I experienced and saw. And it will remind me to go back.
so cool!!!!
