The Zoo

Tuesday we went to the Oregon Zoo. First we stopped for lunch at Elephant Delicatessen.

Then we headed to the zoo. It was a great day - a little cloudy, not too hot - so the animals were active.

This guy was trying so hard to get his teeth into this big plastic barrel. He would try biting it, then he would jump on it with his front paws....he was quite determined even though he was making no progress.

And this guy was just weird.

There is one exhibit where you can climb under and get a different perspective and that's what S and K are doing here.

Even the hippos were out of the water.

In addition to viewing all the animals, it's always fun to "people watch". There were several interesting characters we saw and other interesting outfits ~ especially for the zoo.

  

But this lady was priceless. She was sitting outside the zoo store and I had to get a picture.

I would love to know more of her story ~ wouldn't you?

After the zoo, we headed to the Pearl District of Portland to walk around and eat dinner. I forgot something in the car so I ran back while these three silly people waited. When I came back they were pretending they were statues and would not look at me as I passed them.

It was a full, fun day!
