We started school yesterday. We weren't quite ready, but figuring I'll never be completely ready, we (I) decided to just jump in. We didn't do much - in fact, we'll be doing "lite" school for the next few weeks as we still enjoy beautiful weather here. More than anything, we just need to get back into a little bit of routine.

Our special "first day of school" thing was to go to our local library and get the girls their own library cards. 

They were very excited. They each picked a subject/topic they want to learn more about and then checked out books accordingly. They will read them and then write up a report of sorts that they will then share with the rest of us. Kayleigh picked birds and Sydney picked tigers. Maybe I'll post their reports here.
